General Questions
Yes, all of our cars are equipped with dual controls, 5 star ANCAP safety rated and has comprehensive car insurance.
We provide pick-up and drop-off service. We can pick you up from train station, home, university, work, school or even at VicRoads.
Currently we provide our services in Melbourne city, northern suburbs and surrounding areas. We hope to continue expanding our service areas so we can provide high quality driving lessons to more people all over Melbourne. Yes, it does. We are familiar with their high standards and expectations.

Ideally, you should book at least one week before your desired date. If not, we will do our best to accommodate your booking even on short notice.

Yes, we provide receipts upon payment confirmation being received by us.
Nepal Driving School understands that unexpected things can happen. If you need to make a change to your booking, simply email us at admin@nepaldrivingschool.com.au
- You can cancel / reschedule with full refund right up until 24 hrs before your driving lesson booking.
- Less than 24 Hrs prior to lesson commencement, we are unable to offer a refund for rescheduling/cancellation requests. You will be charged the full-service fee to cover the Driving Instructor’s other job loss.
- In case of medical reasoning, you could cancel on short notice provided you could send us the proof of medical certificate.

Services & Other
To get a learner permit, you must be at least 16 years of age or older. You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for a probationary driver licence.
It’s good to learn both. We highly recommend that first time drivers learn in an automatic. It is very important that new drivers learn how to drive in an automatic since it is much easier to learn than a manual car with a gear and clutch. This is also beneficial for people who have never driven before. Currently we only offer automatic driving lessons.
Your instructor will pick you up from your designated location and the actual driving lesson goes for an hour. You can choose to have a double length session if you want to learn faster.
Yes, we offer a driving test package where we take students for a 60-minute driving lesson just before the test so that they are confident and comfortable. Or you can just do it in your own car.
All drivers start with zero demerit points. You can accumulate demerit points for various traffic offences such as speeding and talking on a mobile phone. If you are a full licensed driver and have accumulated 12 demerit points over three years, your licence can be revoked. If you are a learner or probationary driver licence holder, if you have five points on your driving record within a twelve-month period then your licence or permit can be suspended.
This can be a hard question to answer as everyone has different levels of learning and skills level. At Nepal Driving School, our experienced instructors are trained to provide the highest quality driving lessons in the shortest possible time.
Please bring with you learner licence or permit and logbook. If you have overseas driver licence, please bring original copy of your overseas driver licence. If your overseas licence is in a language other than English, you’ll also need to bring an English translation or international driving permit. According to VicRoads information on fines and penalties, you could be set back $159 for failing to produce your licence or learner’s permit upon request. We strongly advise you to always carry your driving necessary documentation with you while driving.
There is no minimum or maximum price for learning to drive in Melbourne, as most Driving Instructors set their own prices. However, the average cost of a driving lesson in the Melbourne Victoria is $55-$60.

Vicroads & Driving Test
Testing Officer are bound by the assessment criteria established by the VicRoads. New drivers are not expected to be perfect, once off minor errors could be forgiven. Having a professional driving instructor will help you improve and avoid making any critical errors.
VicRoads verifies the licence using a range of tools and online channels. Where a licence can’t be verified through these avenues, VicRoads will seek confirmation directly from the Consulate.
Red P platers can’t have more than one passenger between 16 and 22, unless that passenger is the driver’s spouse/live-in partner, sibling, or step-sibling. For example, you can have a 20 year old friend along with your 21 year old sister, but not two 19 year old friends.
A two stage probationary licence – P1 (minimum one year) and P2 (minimum three years) a peer passenger restriction for P1 drivers. probationary drivers are prohibited from driving certain vehicles.
Vicroads practical driving test takes about 30 Minutes. Stage 1 goes for Approx. 10 Min. Stage 2 goes for Approx. 20 Min.
VicRoads does not supply vehicles for a drive test. Learner driver needs to organize the drive test suitable vehicle at their own expense.
Yes! As soon as you pass your driving test.
If you need to change your appointment you’ll need to pay another appointment fee. For appointments to sit a test, if you change your appointment with less than 24 hours notice you’ll need to also pay the test fee again. No refund will be provided.
Please note: appointments can only be changed by the person sitting the test.
Yes. From 15 August 2022, your first attempt to take the Learner Permit Test Online is free under the new Motorist Package and Safe Driver Program.
*Please be advised, appointment fee is still applicable for overseas licence holders who have completed the online Learner Permit test and require in-person licence verification to be issued a Victorian Learner Permit.
Your first attempt to take the Hazard Perception Test Online is now free. If you are unsuccessful passing the test, you’ll need to pay the test fee of $19.40 for each new attempt.
If you complete the Hazard Perception Test In-person, the test fee of $19.40 and appointment fee of $19.60 remain.
